The Platform does not inspect or test any item listed by users. You are responsible for evaluating what you accept.
Before you take produce home
- Inspect for damage, mold, soft spots, or off smells.
- Ask the seller about growing conditions, water source, and any sprays or treatments used.
- Wash thoroughly before eating.
- Refrigerate or store appropriately.
Phase 1: what is allowed on the Platform
- Whole, uncut fruits and vegetables
- Fresh culinary herbs (whole bunches)
- Seeds and seedlings
- Whole plants
- Garden supplies and compost (clearly labeled non-food)
What is NOT allowed (see Prohibited Items)
Meat, dairy, eggs (unless and until we enable per-state rules), seafood, cooked meals, cut or sliced produce, fresh juices, canned goods, jams, sauces, ferments, alcohol, cannabis, wild-foraged mushrooms, and anything making medicinal claims.
Allergens and special diets
We cannot verify allergen claims from any seller. If you have a serious food allergy, do not consume items from individuals you have not directly vetted yourself.
Children, elderly, immunocompromised
Use heightened caution. Community-grown food is not pasteurized, lab-tested, or graded. The Platform makes no claims about safety for high-risk populations.
If something is wrong
Stop eating it. Contact the seller in your conversation thread. Report the listing at /reports/new â admins review every report. If you believe you are ill, contact a medical professional and (if appropriate) your local health department.
