Organization Agreement
This agreement applies to Verified Organizations on My Grow Community â food banks, community fridges, shelters, mutual-aid groups, and other registered nonprofits accepting community donations.
Verification requirements
To be listed as a Verified Organization, you provide:
- EIN letter from the IRS OR equivalent state nonprofit registration
- Physical address verification (utility bill, lease, or equivalent)
- Authorized representative name and role
- Statement of donation categories you accept
- Operating hours
- Food handler certifications for any refrigerated-item acceptance
- Optional: certificate of insurance
We review submissions and grant Verified status after review. Status is reviewed annually.
Acceptance rules
- You accept only donations you can safely handle and distribute.
- You disclose your accepted-categories list publicly so donors do not waste trips.
- You confirm receipt of each donation in the app within 7 days of pickup.
- You report quality issues immediately so the Platform can act against bad-faith donors.
- You follow your own food-safety protocols on storage and distribution.
What you may NOT do
- Re-sell or commercialize any donation received through the Platform.
- Claim Verified Org status while not actively operating as a nonprofit.
- Demand information from donors beyond what is needed to receive the donation.
- Misrepresent the use of donations in your public materials.
Tax-deductible receipts
The Platform does not generate tax receipts. If a donor requests a receipt, you may issue one per your normal nonprofit process.
Reporting
Monthly, we will export to you: pounds accepted, donor count, geographic distribution â useful for your grant reporting.
Loss of Verified status
We may revoke Verified status for: misrepresentation, repeated unconfirmed pickups, complaints from donors, or violation of these terms. Reinstatement requires re-verification.
The Platform's role
We facilitate connections between donors and Verified Organizations. We do not inspect donations, store them, transport them, or warranty them. We may remove donations or suspend orgs/donors for violations.
