How to list your first item
Whether you have extra tomatoes, a sapling that needs a new home, or seeds you want to swap — listing on My Grow Community takes about 60 seconds.
Quick steps
1. Click + New Listing in the top nav (or visit /listings/new)
2. Pick the listing type:
- Sale — you want money for it
- Free pickup — give it away to a neighbor
- Donation — earmarked for a verified org or food bank
- Trade — swap for something you want
- Request — you need something specific (verified orgs only)
3. Add title, description, quantity, photos
4. Set a pickup window and ZIP code (rough area, not your exact address)
5. Hit publish
What makes a great listing
The platform runs an automatic Listing Score on every listing (0–100). Free Members see the score; Grower Plus+ see the full 11-point breakdown with specific fixes. Aim for:
- At least one photo. Listings with photos get roughly 4× more saves than text-only.
- 80+ character description. Mention how it tastes, how you grew it, what to do with it.
- A pickup window. "Saturday 9am–noon" beats "whenever works."
- A ZIP code. Buyers can't filter by distance without it.
Listing limits by tier
- Free Member: up to 2 active sale listings, 5 photos each. Donations, trades, free pickups, and requests are unlimited.
- Grower Plus ($4.99/mo): 15 sale listings, 10 photos each.
- Grower Pro ($9.99/mo): unlimited sale listings, 20 photos each.
Donations, trades, and free pickups are always unlimited on every tier.
What's not allowed
- Live animals (the platform is for plants, produce, and seeds only)
- Cannabis or regulated substances
- Resale of commercial produce as "homegrown"
- Anything that violates the Community Guidelines
If you're unsure, post it — admins review reports and remove anything off-policy.
